If you live in Cape Town and have driven along the ever so trendy Kloof Street recently, you would definitely have noticed Roche Bobois’ new window display.

The furniture design and distribution powerhouse has embraced the festive season spirit with a red hot polka dot installation implemented by Catherine Timotei, a Cape Town based contemporary abstract artist. She is known for her exuberant paintings, large scale dimensions and pure colours. Her distinct style is reflected in the roll-out of her installation for Roche Bobois – red polka dot patterns dress the showroom floors.

Timotei was inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama who is famous for her signature obsession with the polka dot pattern. Her red dot inspiration was first seen in a window concept for Philip Johnson’s Glass House and is now reflected in Roche Bobois’s Cape Town showroom festive season display.

Look out for more collaborations and innovative window installations in 2017.
